Examples:

• Asia Cosmetic Hospital: offers FUT, FUE and DHI in a hospital setting, but publishes no price or package contents. Its own hair transplant page asks you to enquire (read 23 September 2026). We previously showed a ฿300,000 package here and could not source it.
• ID Clinic Bangkok: a $3,500 DHI package is listed on Bookimed, a booking platform, not on the clinic's own site (read 23 September 2026). The listing says 2,500 grafts in one place and 3,000 in another, so confirm the graft count in writing. It covers surgery, anesthesia, pre-op tests, medication and a transfer to the clinic. Hotel is not included

Best For: Patients wanting one-price simplicity and hospital-grade facility.

We don't give a worked total for this type. No hospital we checked publishes its hair transplant package price, so any number here would be a guess. Ask for a written package quote that states the graft count, the hotel nights and the follow-up period, then add flights, extra hotel nights and meals yourself.

The quoted package price is never your final cost. Here's what typically gets added on:

Medications Beyond Initial Supply

Most packages include 1-3 weeks of post-op medications. But hair transplants require ongoing medication to prevent further loss. Hairsmith, which includes 12 months of medication, says on its cost page that some clinics charge ฿1,000-5,000 a month ($30-$150). Over a year, that's ฿12,000-60,000 ($360-$1,810) if your package does not include it. Dollars at ฿33.14 = $1 (European Central Bank reference rates, 22 September 2026).

Additional PRP Sessions

Clinics often offer PRP after a transplant. OpenHouse Clinic in Bangkok charges ฿6,500 ($200) for one session or ฿22,000 ($660) for four (read 23 September 2026). Some packages include PRP, so ask.

Touch-Up Procedures

Not all grafts take. Clinics with results guarantees offer free touch-ups if growth is under 80-85%. But some clinics charge full price for additional work. Ask about this before booking.

Extended Stay if Complications Arise

If you develop an infection or excessive bleeding, you may need to extend your hotel stay for additional clinic visits. Budget an extra $100-$150/night buffer (our planning assumption, not a quote).

Travel Insurance

Most travel insurance excludes elective cosmetic procedures. Specialized medical tourism insurance can cover complications, trip cancellation, and medical evacuation. Get a quote and read what it excludes.

Visa Costs

Most Western passports get visa-free entry to Thailand for 60 days (extendable to 90 days). But if you need a visa, check the fee for your passport with the Thai embassy.

A free airport pickup doesn't fix a bad hairline. Check: Is the surgeon board-certified? How many procedures have they done? Can you see their before/after portfolio? The best Bangkok clinics (Absolute Hair, Hairtran, DHT) have surgeons with 1,000+ procedures and medical degrees from respected universities.

"Per Graft" vs "Fixed Price": Which Is Better Value?

Per-graft pricing is more transparent. Patients report paying ฿36-123 per graft ($1.09-$3.71) across five Bangkok clinics (31 reports and quotes, 2023 to 2025). Fixed-price packages often hide the graft count or overestimate what you need. Ask: "How many grafts will I actually get?" and "What if I need fewer grafts than quoted? Do I get a refund?"

Ask What Happens If You Need More Grafts Than Quoted

Consultations are estimates. Sometimes you need 3,000 grafts instead of 2,500. Good clinics tell you upfront: "We quote per-graft, so you only pay for what we use." Sketchy clinics lock you into a fixed price, then upsell you on the procedure table.

Check If Follow-Up Includes Video Consultations

You're flying home after 7 days. But hair growth takes 12 months. Clinics with real follow-up offer video check-ins at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months. This matters for international patients. You can't fly back to Bangkok every quarter.

Look at Who Actually Does the Procedure

In some clinics, the doctor does the consultation, then technicians do the entire procedure. Ask: "Will the surgeon personally extract grafts and create the hairline?" The best clinics have doctors doing the critical work (hairline design, graft extraction, implantation) with technicians assisting.

Red Flags: Unusually Low Prices, "Unlimited Grafts" Promises, Pressure Tactics

• A cheap quote with no named surgeon: A low price alone isn't proof of bad work (patients reported paying ฿36-56 per graft at HairTran in Bangkok in 2023-2024), so ask who does the extraction and who places the grafts.
• "Unlimited grafts" packages: Your donor area has limits. Clinics promising 6,000+ grafts are overselling.
• "Book today" pressure: Good clinics are busy. They don't need pressure tactics.
• No portfolio or only stock photos: If they can't show real patient results, run.

• You control the rest of the budget. You pick the surgeon first and pay for the hotel and transfers you actually want.

Why Surgeon Skill > Package Perks

The clinic's reputation and surgeon skill matter infinitely more than whether airport pickup is included. A bad transplant can't be fixed with a free hotel night. A good transplant lasts 20+ years.

Where to Stay: Book Near the Clinic

Most top Bangkok clinics are in Sukhumvit (BTS Nana, Asok, Phrom Phong). Stay within walking distance or one BTS stop. Post-op, you're visiting the clinic daily for the first 3-4 days. You don't want 45-minute commutes with a fresh scalp.

Recommended hotels near clinics: Marriott Sukhumvit, Grande Centre Point, or any mid-range hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 11-23. Budget $75-$120/night (our planning assumption, not a quote).
